Association Legislative Agenda
1.
Stop cutting the university budget and approve $50 million in deferred maintenance as requested in the BOR budget.
2.
Support Federal and State efforts to solve the University’s land grant deficit.
3.
Recruit and retain outstanding faculty and staff.
4.
Continue the UA Scholars and Alaska Performance Scholarships to help keep UA affordable, given that tuition increases will be required. Protect the Higher Education Act from non-designated uses.
5.
Support a safe, secure, and respectful campus environment for UA.
6.
Use earnings from the Permanent Fund to provide a steady income to the State while maintaining annual payments to the residents of Alaska.
